Profile
Dennis Lembrée is an experienced web site professional whose specialty is web standards (XHTML, CSS, DOM), accessibility (WCAG, Section 508), and usability.
Dennis grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) in 1992 with a B.A. in Communications. He worked in the marketing and electronic publishing fields for five years in the Detroit area. He teamed with friend and former co-worker Mike Pfeiffer to produce a fanzine, and soon after a web site, called O.D. Mag, which was just recently taken offline.
In the 1997, Dennis moved to Orlando, Florida. For the next seven years, he performed web development for several companies including Walt Disney World (Engineering Division) and three web start-up companies. From 2001 thru 2004, he was the leading web programmer for an international web-based training company.
Dennis returned to the Ann Arbor, Michigan area in 2004 and held web development postions at Quicken Loans and Ford Motor Company. He started the Web Axe podcast in September 2005 and launched CheckEngine USA in December 2005. He co-founded Refresh-Detroit in August 2006.
In 2007, Dennis moved to the South Bay area in California to work as Senior UI Developer for Yodlee, Inc. He is married to his beautiful wife Carey, and they are proud parents of two little boys, Carson Drake and Justin Anthony.

Dennis is the co-founder of Refresh Detroit, a chapter of the Refreshing Cities organization. Its goal is to promote web design, standards, usability, and accessibility among professionals in the Detroit and Ann Arbor, Michigan areas.
